Most people call them New Year's resolutions, but I have decided to call them New Commitments. This is mainly because like most people I tend not to keep resolutions. So last night I spent some time talking to my daughter
Katy about the things I want and need to do this year to grow my
business . I do have to say that I had a nice increase in business in 2009, but I know that there are so many more things I can and need to do in a proactive way to have a more successful shop this year and in the years to come.
Because I have a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, I am well aware that a positive frame of mind is an important aspect in this whole process. That is why I moved back home to Kentucky six months ago and have been spending time reflecting and growing. I am now going to attempt to overcome some of my computer insecurities and forge ahead. That means regular blogging (insert big sigh from me here), updating flickr on a regular basis, creating a facebook fan page, and researching and utilizing many of the opportunities that can be found on the internet.
Started with a small step last night (took me until 2:00 am) creating a new banner for my shop and blog. Still haven't gotten the one for the blog quite right, but Katy was a big help. Thanks honey.
So now that I have put this in writing I am going to have to commit. Above are a few new things you can find at
ImSoVintage. I am really finding some wonderful things here in Kentucky.
