| my grandson on a recent camping trip enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood |
After last weeks very spooky Halloween shopping, I thought I would take a lighthearted look today. I love vintage toys. They take me back to a simpler time. A time when we couldn't wait to get outside to start our day. To jump rope while singing silly songs. To spread a blanket and have tea parties under the willow tree. To roller skate down bumpy sidewalks. To share it all with special friends.

Love the VW and the little sewing machine. I've had a few of these vintage sewing machines over the years. They make great displays!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about vintage toys that just brings the childhood delight right back to the forefront of our minds? Love them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful collection of metal toys, thanks for including my rollerskates among these delights.
ReplyDeleteI have such a soft spot for vintage toys.... loved the post and all the features! That VW bus is precious and so is that little sewing machine and of course that sweet little jump rope... :-) Thank you for the feature!
ReplyDeleteI love old toys, too. I have some little metal bugs about 2" across that race and twirl on the shiny floor. I have a very old mother in the shoe.
ReplyDeleteLoved roller skating. My favorite thing was to wear the key on a rope around my neck. I thought I was so cool. Thanks for visiting my blog.
I love the memory of the roller skating key, because I thought I was so cool too with mine hanging around my neck 8-)
