planning a Thanksgiving table

I love Thanksgiving and as it approaches I am thinking about how I want my dining room table to look.

Here are some lovely ideas.

Simple and natural, bittersweet can add the perfect touch to your table.

I love this idea of using a vintage plant stand from your garden to display items on your buffet.

A time for being thankful for the harvest is reflected in this lovely wheat centerpiece.

If you are lucky enough for a warm day.

For me, Thanksgiving is such a personal holiday. It is a time for giving thanks for all that is special in our lives, a time for family, and  a time for sharing. As I sit here and plan my Thanksgiving table, I think about all the things that I am thankful for...a warm home...that my 87 year old mom (who can be quite  fussy at times) is still with us...my sweet daughters and grandchildren...the fact that in such difficult economic times and at the tender age of 60 I have found a way to share my love for vintage and antiques and make a bit of income from it...and for all of you, who have shared your friendship with me. So whether your table this Thanksgiving is an elaborately decorated table for twelve or just a simple card table with a small pumpkin, I hope that it will be special for you my sweet friends.

  3. well I definitely need another cup of coffee, because I should have typed "perspective"--but, you know what I mean. me, too, love the bittersweet on the table and the lovely gray cabinet in the background. I wish I had a room big enough to have one with a table/chairs. Enjoy your weekend!

  8. I have never really made a "tablescape" or gone much beyond a simple centerpiece--if that. The food is always the center of our gatherings ;-) But oh, how these pictures makes me want to dress a beautiful table!!
