For two days they have been forecasting the "BIG SNOW" We were going to be getting 5 inches. Everyone rushed out and stocked up on groceries and purchased snow shovels
and sleds
Kids everywhere were excited. Then they changed the forecast to 2 -4". Well that 's okay. Still enough snow to build a decent snowman.

okay maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. Then this morning they downgraded it once again to 2" or less. Well, at least they got the less part right, because there is zero snow. So, why am I complaining you may ask? Well, I thought maybe I would be snowed in and could lounge around in my jammies, drinking hot cocoa by the fire while reading a good book.
So instead I decided to make a trip to Goodwill on a thrifting adventure. I threw my coat on over my jammies (thank goodness there weren't any fashion police around) donned my wonderful snow boots (just in case) and headed out.
I was so excited to show you what I found, and here it is.
Wait a minute. What's that big blank space you ask? Well I am sure you remember the old nursery rhyme:
Old Mother Hubbard went to her cupboard to get her poor dog a bone. But when she got there, the cupboard was bare, and so her poor dog had none.
I felt just like that poor dog. I have never seen such bare shelves as there were in that store. Where were all the goodies? Where are all those wonderful things I've been seeing other people find lately.?
I'm just glad I still had my jammies on, because now I can close the curtains, heat up some cocoa, and sit by the fire while pretending it's snowing (right after I email our local weatherman)

In photos, that's all the snow this southern girl wants! New friend here! Drop by for a visit! I'd love if you become one of my friends too!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it pathetic how they wear us out with the weather forecasts for no reason! Weathermen are the only people in the world that can do their jobs wrong so much and not loose their jobs!! I was ready and waiting and NOTHING!! Glad you were not in a traffice mishap in those jammies this morning!! LOL, you are too funny. Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLaura, this post is so funny! :) I love the pics, especially the giant snowman. I know what you mean about the weather forecast. Everyone around here was in a semi-tizzy last night, but we had not one snowflake. However, it's been raining all day, and I think there's now some ice mixed in. I've decided that the weather forecasters just really love all the drama. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
Denise
The weather seems to be getting harder to predict all the time. I kinda feel sorry for the forecasters sometimes because they miss it so badly. I actually would enjoy a really good snowfall since we don't get many good ones, usually a couple inches at the most. Of course I might feel differently if I had to get out and about in it. My runs to the thrift stores have pretty much been like yours. I am always waiting for that big find like some bloggers tell about. Stay warm in your jammies.------------ Shannon
ReplyDeleteDearest Laura,
ReplyDeleteLovely blog and I'm following you in return. We don't have snow but a dreary day with some drizzle in the morning. We got to Church dry however.
Love to you,
Mariette
