Gossamer Memories

Last week after much thought I decided to open a second vintage shop on Etsy. I have acquired so much vintage ephemera that I thought it needed a home of its own. I love the eclectic nature of my ImSoVintage shop, but I felt like it was becoming somewhat overwhelming to find the ephemera and supplies. Voila!! the creation of GossamerMemories. I am really loving stocking it and have already listed over 50 items in the shop with much more coming on a daily basis. Here is a sample of what you can find there.

lots of photos

There is so much more coming, so stay tuned.

Dreaming of Spring

Well I think spring fever is finally starting to set in for me and what better way to dream of spring than in a beautiful bedroom that evokes nothing but thoughts of light and warmth. I'm thinking painted furniture, light sheer curtains, and plenty of soft luxurious pillows. An eclectic cottage look is really sounding good.

I could definitely dream away for hours in this cozy haven with its soft comforter and piled on pillows.

A beautiful cottage bedroom can still be created in a limited space. Even if you are in a studio apartment, a beautiful day bed can give you a beautiful comfortable space to dream in both day and night.

What could be more romantic than a fabulous light and airy interior reflected beautifully off the prisms of an antique chandelier.

Decorating cottage style is not only beautiful, but if your are on a tight budget check out garage sales and thrift stores for old furniture that can be upcycled with a coat of paint, vintage fabrics
to turn into fabulous pillows and duvet covers, old books for reading and display, and of course antique prints and milk glass. I have some lovely old Victorian and flower prints at ImSoVintage.

I guess I've done enough dreaming (is there actually ever enough) and do some actual work.

Have a beautiful day.

Sunday Shop Update

Time for shop musings and previews. I found some really fun and fabulous new additions for my shop at the auction this week Some of the things I have already started to add and the rest will be added throughout the coming week. As usual there is an eclectic mix for a variety of tastes and wants.

For those of you who follow my shop, you will have noticed that I have added a sister shop to ImSoVintage. My new shop has been grandly named Gossamer Memories and I am in the process of busily stocking it. It will feature vintage and antique ephemera, photos, findings, and supplies. I have acquired so much vintage ephemera that I decided it was time to give it a home of its own. So in the weeks ahead I will gradually be winding down the ephemera in ImSoVintage and adding it to the new shop. I hope you will take time to visit as there will be some exciting finds on a daily basis.

Happy rest of the weekend my friends.

Decorating with Pottery

I have always had a love for pottery. Whether old or new, pottery is a wonderful way to accent the decor of your home. There are beautiful examples of pottery from all parts of the world. Pottery is perfect to accent both the interior and exterior of your home. It can be displayed as a single accent piece or grouped together to make a fabulous display.

There are no rights or wrongs when decorating with pottery. However, if you have a home with young energetic children or pets, you may want to choose the place where you place your pottery pieces carefully. My daughter, Cary, had a bad experience with that this week. She lost a lovely vintage planter she had just purchased for her birthday. So you may want to put them out of reach of everyday play, or behind closed doors.

Wow, these beautiful photos I found on Flickr make me what to go out and add to my own collection.

Sound of Silence

Indianapolis in the Snow by Pin Point Creative

There is nothing like the quiet of night time after a snow fall. It had been a while since I had been able to experience it, because I was living for the past eight years in Southeastern North Carolina. Tonight, after a beautiful snowfall, here in Kentucky, I was able to enjoy that utter feeling of peace once again. If you are lucky enough to be where there is some new fallen snow, you may want to step outside and enjoy the silence.
