because life doesn't have to be complicated
I managed some quiet time yesterday and felt so much calmer. Today it's I take Mom to get some tests done so not so much rest.
ReplyDeleteThat quiet time is so important, Linda. Hope your mom's tests turn out okay. I'll be thinking of you.
DeleteSilence is golden to me, Laura. I realized this more after Steve's death, the TV and radio were off, only the thoughts in my head and the birds outside to listen to. I've found so many books on silence in this 16 months, supporting my need for quiet reflection. The sun is attempting to show itself here in Southern Indiana this morning after several days of clouds and rain. But the cold has come in with a vengeance! Stay warm and quiet! Hedy
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have really been able to find inspiration and solace in your quiet times, Hedy. We have the same weather as you do here in Kentucky. It has turned very cold, but I am so happy that there is no snow in the forecast. :)
DeleteI am right there with you. I love my walks, even in wintertime. I consider it therapy!
ReplyDeleteI miss my walks in the winter. I wish I could still tolerate the cold. Walks are a form of therapy.
DeleteI like Hedy seem to have found healing and strength in silence. It always seemed that I had to be reading, watching TV or listening to music, most of the time at least two at a time. Now I do not turn on the TV until 6 PM for the news and I can't remember the last time I turned on music. I still multi task but maybe I can work on that this year. Keep warm my friend, Debbie
ReplyDeleteSilence can be very healing and inspirational. I never watch the news on tv. I find it too negative. I do like to listen to soft music, though.
DeleteAre you an introvert like I am? I crave my quiet time and find the TV quite distracting and really don't watch it all that much. Music, if it's quietly played, can be soothing or if I need a lift, I might play something upbeat. My favorite sounds are from nature and birds. It's too cold right now to be outside here. I'm already longing for spring!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
We sound very much alike, Cheryl. Although I am not as much of an introvert as I used to be I do crave my quiet times and times of solitude. I am very much looking forward to spring too.
